Jumpers lead KHS boys track at Kansas Relays [ 04/21/2008 ]

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Kearney High boys track team showed its long jump strength Saturday at the 81st Annual Kansas Relays.

The Bearcats placed four in the top 13 with Brett Maher placing fourth, Jack Chatelain fifth, Jered Archer 10th and Vince Molina 13th. Maher jumped 22 feet, 4½ inches, while Chatelain went 22-0¼. Archer’s best jump was 21-6¼, while Molina went 21-1½.

Kearney also showed some relay strength with the two-mile relay team of Matt Trampe, Brandt Humphrey, Cal Mak and Alex Johnson placing fourth with a time of 8:15.67, while the 4x100 team of Rustin Dring, Josh Mead, Mike Weaver and Molina placed fifth with a time of 43.33 seconds.
